What is Salt Therapy ?

Salt Therapy (Aka Halo-therapy) is a natural and holistic treatment for adults and children. From the ancient Greeks to Modern day, salt has been known to aid in detoxifying the respiratory system, healing skin conditions, promoting better breathing, sounder sleep and overall wellness.

Salt has great natural properties. Super Absorbent, an Anti Inflammatory and Anti Bacterial it has been shown to be effective at improving many conditions.

Whilst relaxing in our Salt Room, premium pharmaceutical grade salt is precisely ground and crushed into micro-sized particles in a Halogenerator which is then dispersed into the salt room. As the salt travels around the room, salt particles are inhaled deep into the lungs, bronchi, bronchioles and alveoli. The non-inhaled salt particles fall onto the skin, absorbing allergens, toxins and foreign substances.

Salt therapy has its origins from the salt mines and caves of Eastern Europe, where people go to help with respiratory conditions, such as asthma, bronchitis, COPD and sinus issues.

The origins of modern salt therapy comes from a polish physician Dr Felix Boczkowski, who discovered that men working in the salt mines at Wieliczka suffered fewer respiratory problems than the general population. Another study In 1949 by German physician, Dr. K.H. Spannahel, who found that during WWII that people who were hiding in salt mines and caves from the bombs had respiratory health benefits.
